The sloppy display of Nigeria in their 0-2 loss to Croatia has drawn criticism from former Denmark international Kenneth Perez, who worked as a television pundit during the game.
Nigeria were outdone by a spirited Croatian side with Oghenekaro Etebo scoring an own goal before Luka Modric sealed the win from the spot in the second half of the tie played at Kaliningrad.
Speaking on the poor display of Nigeria, which saw them have one shot on target, Perez said African teams are usually creative and wondered by Nigeria didn’t put up anything close to being creative during the game.
He made reference to former stars of the Nigerian team Austin Okocha and Kanu Nwankwo and said he was expecting to see a player in their mould in the current Super Eagles team at the Russia 2018 World Cup.
”I’m surprised there is no creativity in this side. African teams have that. I was expecting to see another Okocha or Kanu”, he said after the game.
