The decision of coach Gernot Rohr of the Super Eagles of Nigeria to line up the Super Eagles of Nigeria in a 3-5-2 formation has been confirmed following the release of the official team list.

As reported by Owngoalnigeria.com five hours ago, the Franco-German coach has shunned the 4-2-3-1 formation which they used in the 0-2 loss to Croatia on Saturday in Kaliningrad.

Later today in Volgograd they will take on Iceland with the coach effecting three changes to the starting line up against Croatia for today’s game against Iceland. The trio of Ahmed Musa, Kelechi Iheanacho and Kenneth Omeruo were included as exclusively reported by this portal.

They took the spots of Alex Iwobi, Shehu Abdullahi and Odion Ighalo from the squad that played against Croatia as Rohr opt for a two man attack and three man defence.

Kenneth Omeruo will play as the right central defender with William Troost-Ekong playing central while Leon Balogun will occupy the left spot of the central defence with captain John Obi Mikel in front of them.

Mikel will be the deepest of the Nigerian midfielders with Wilfred Ndidi in front of him, while star man in the first game Oghenekaro Etebo will play as the most advanced midfielder just behind the two strikers in Ahmed Musa and Kelechi Iheanacho.

Victor Moses will play as the right wing back while Bryan Idowu will occupy the left wing-back spot as Super Eagles aim to stretch Iceland, who are expected to be lined up in a defensive way for today’s game.
