The future of 20 year old Manchester United midfielder Tosin Kehinde who has committed his international future to Nigeria has dominated discussions in the recent days.
Kehinde will be a free agent soon after failing to agree with the terms he was offered by Man Utd following the expiration of his deal at the Old Trafford outfit.
Owngoalnigeria.com gathered from club sources that the Nigerian was offered a deal by the club and also a chance to join the first team in pre season training but the stand off has cost him a spot in the first team plans for pre-season.
Man Utd’s offer is no where near what his representatives are demanding both financially and in terms of duration of contract. A situation which has sparked interest in his service from other teams around Europe.
Despite his contract running out, Man Utd still included him in the pre season training of the U23s as they are still hopeful of convincing him to sign the contract on offer for him.
Kehinde’s decision to change agents also affected talks with Man Utd as his new agent has to start afresh with the club, who were already advanced in talks with him over an extension.
The fact that Manchester United are yet to withdraw their contract offer shows how high they value him, although interest from clubs in Spain, France and Holland means they are now under pressure to tie him down on a long term contract.
