The options available to coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Gernot Rohr as left back has increased following the elevation of German-Nigerian left back Deji-Ousman Beyreuther at Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt.
Rohr is looking for options at left back with Elderson Echiejile set to lose his spot leaving Bryan Idowu and Ola Aina as the players available to the coach and even at that none of them is a left footer.
Deji confirmed his readiness to represent Nigeria despite the fact that he was snubbed by Nigeria when he approached them to be a part of the 2015 U17 team that lifted the World Youth Championship.
Last season he showed his abilities for the youth team of Eintracht Frankfurt especially from freekick situation with five goals to his name and five assists despite playing as a left back in majority of the 29 games he played.
Already he has stepped up to the first team where he has played in their first two pre season games as they step up their preparations for the start of the new German Bundesliga season.
Nigeria have already succeeded in their quest to lure both Leon Balogun and Joel Noah Sarenren Bazee from Germany and although Rohr failed to convince the trio of Kevin Akpoguma, Felix Uduokhai and Jordan Torunarigha , Deji will likely be another success story.
