FC Porto Threaten To Walk Away From Proposed Plan To Loan Nwakali From Arsenal

Portuguese league giants FC Porto are considering withdrawing their offer to loan highly rated Nigerian midfielder Kelechi Nwakali from English Premier League side Arsenal.

Nwakali confirmed talks with the Portuguese side over a loan move over a week ago but the move is yet to see the light of the day as both teams are yet to agree on certain aspect of the deal.

Owngoalnigeria.com understand that Porto are frustrated with Arsenal, who are keen on having Nwakali sign an extension to his deal before joining Porto on loan for the entirety of next season.

Porto on their part want Arsenal to give them the option of buying the 20 year old permanently next summer. A move which the Gunners have so far rejected as he is still highly rated by the club.

The former captain of the Nigerian U17 and 20 team is however still in Portugal waiting for both teams to conclude negotiations before having his medicals at Porto before the club can apply for his work permit.
