Following reports that the Nigeria U20 team were rescued by self acclaimed president of the Nigeria Football Federation ( NFF) Chris Giwa when they were stuck without jerseys, an administrative member of the team has refuted the story.
It was reported that the Nigeria U20 team bought the set of jerseys they used for their away tie against Mauritania in the African Youth Championship Qualifiers, thanks to the efforts of Giwa.
In an exclusive chat with Owngoalnigeria.com, one of the team administrator who has been with the team from the start of training said there’s no substance to the story.
” That’s so untrue. Since we started camping we had two set of jerseys, the home and away set. That is in addition to the ones we usually use for test games and training “, he explained.
” The pair of jerseys were given to us in January from the NFF store as provided by the kit manufacturers of the Nigeria national team Nike. We didn’t buy any jersey”, he concluded.
