The senior national team of Nigeria duo of Kenneth Omeruo and Victor Moses are back in training with English FA Cup champions Chelsea after representing Nigeria at the World Cup in Russia.
Moses played all of Nigeria’s three games at the World Cup while Omeruo played in two of the games as Nigeria failed to progress from their group, no thanks to losses against Croatia and Argentina.
Omeruo who was very impressive for Nigeria against Iceland has been sent on loan five times since joining Chelsea in 2013, while Moses established himself as a first team player under the 3-5-2 system of former coach Antonio Conte.
Despite his impressive performance for Nigeria at the World Cup, Chelsea’s new coach Maurizo Sarri is reportedly not considering Omeruo as part of his first team plans as he has already instructed the club to get him promising Juventus central defender Daniele Rugani.
Meanwhile Moses position is under serious scrutiny as coach Sarri plays a different system from Conte who used the Nigerian as a wing-back in his two years spell at the club. Moses will now push for a spot in the attack of the team, his original role before he was converted to a wing-back.
