Nigeria U17 Handed Tough Draw In Race To Qualify For World Youth Championship

The quest to be at next year U17 World Cup will officially begin in Nigeria Republic in the month of September for the Nigerian team under the guidance of coach Manu Garba .

Yesterday Confederation of African Football ( CAF) confirmed the draws for the region were Nigeria are grouped in the latest format and the Eaglet as the Nigerian team are called at this level have a tough task on their hands.

Currently training in Abuja for the past two months, they were placed in pot 2 of the WAFU Zone B draw alongside Burkina Faso, Benin Republic and Ivory Coast while host Niger Republic were grouped alongside Togo and Ghana.

Only the winner of the zonal championship will qualify for the U17 African Nations ‎Championship which will be hosted by Tanzania expect the zone (WAFU A) which has the defending champions (Mali) as they will produce two teams for the African Championship, which serves as qualifiers for the World Cup.
