The forward who arrived Portugal in 2016 for trials with SC Braga but later put pen to paper for Boavista in a move exclusively announced by Owngoalnigeria.com on the 4th of November 2016 signed a three year deal with Portimonense.
Already he has started his career at the club with two goals and three assists to his name for the U23s. A form which has earned him the step up to the main team as they prepare for the start of the top flight league in Portugal.
Taofiq was a late omission from the Nigeria U17 team that won the World Youth Championship in 2015 , but he has since move on from the disappointment of missing out of the chance to showcase his abilities to a global audience.
Quick, strong and composed in front of goal, the Kaduna born forward is expected to add quality to the attack of Portimonense in what will be their second straight season in the top flight after their promotion just before the start of last season.
