Why I Named My Son After My Mentor ‘Coach Bros’ – Al Nassr New Boy Ahmed Musa Reveals


Newly signed on Al Nassr of Saudi Arabia forward Ahmed Musa has exclusively revealed to Owngoalnigeria.com the reason why he ‎named his son after the coach who discovered him Ahmed Ibrahim popularly referred to as ‘Coach Bros’.

In a chat with Owngoalnigeria.com, the 25 year old revealed that the GBS Academy of Jos owner is the reason behind his successful career, hence his decision to give him the honour.

” I was with him in Jos when he was sick three weeks ago. At the hospital I told him my wife is expecting a male child and we have agreed to name him Ibrahim in honour of him. So when she gave birth we had to as promised “, Musa told Owngoalnigeria.com.

” My career is what it is because of him, not just me alone. He has given life to about 30 football players if not more and he is still in the process of helping a lot more. It’s only normal for me to keep him in my heart by naming my son after him”, the Al-Nassr man revealed.

Coach Bros who is presently the Technical Director of Nigeria Professional Football League champions Plateau United is widely viewed as the most successful football academy owner in Nigeria.

At the last account his academy has produced players like Ahmed Musa, Moses Simon, Samuel Kalu, Aliko Bala, Kingsley Madu and even new Vitesse Arnhem signing Hilary Gong is a product of same football school in Jos.

The coach rates his success in discovering and developing young players as a gift from God, which he enhanced by first of all trying to help the players become successful ahead of any monetary gain due to him.
