Kenneth Omeruo is courting interest from Besiktas and contact has been made with Chelsea over the possibility of signing the defender who represented Nigeria at the World Cup, Owngoalnigeria.com reports.

Omeruo is in Turkey to sort out his club future after new Chelsea manager Maurizo Sarri ruled him out of his plans for next season. A decision which sparked interest in his services from Goztepe, Kasimpasa and Alanyaspor.

24 year old Omeruo has previously played for all three clubs on loan from Chelsea, but it appears Besiktas are now the favourite to sign him as he is keen on a move if a fee can be agreed with Chelsea for his permanent transfer.

However Besiktas have made it clear that Omeruo will be an option if one of the duo of Pepe or Croatia World Cup star defender ‎Domagoj Vida leave before the close of the current summer transfer window.

Despite making contact with Chelsea, Besiktas are no way in a hurry to decide on a move for the Nigeria international unless the aforementioned duo departs the club, a move which means the trio of Kasimpasa, Alanyaspor and Goztepe are still in with a chance of luring him.
