Exclusive – Alhaji Gero Makes Big Money Move To Iranian Side Esteghlal FC From Ostersunds

Former Nigeria U20 forward Alhaji Gero has agreed a four year deal to join Iranian side Esteghlal from Swedish side Ostersunds , Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal.

Gero will be presented to the media by Esteghlal who were third in the Iranian league last season and the he will earn an annual salary, which is around ten times what he was earning at Ostersunds, Owngoalnigeria.com gathered from sources close to the deal.

24 year old Gero represented Nigeria at the 2013 U20 World Youth Championship before moving to Sweden ‎, where he played for Oster for two seasons before moving to Denmark and he represented Viborg for two seasons.

The former Kaduna United and Lobi Stars forward has been at Ostersunds since 2016 and in three seasons at the club including the current one he has scored a total of six goals.

Strong, bullish and quick, Gero will reportedly cost the Iranian side a transfer fee in the region of a little over €3m, a fee which represents a good return on investment for Ostersunds considering that he was signed for free.
