Belgium Clubs Facing Competition From Ajax For ‘Nigerian Kante’ Abdul Zubairu Of Trencin


The display of AS Trencin Nigerian midfield maestro Abdul Musa Zubairu against Feyenoord in the Europa League Qualifiers has caught the attention of Dutch League giants Ajax Amsterdam.


19 year old Zubairu dominated the midfield in the game against Feyenoord as his team shock the more illustrious Dutch side 4-0 to put them in a strong position to progress ahead of the reverse tie in the Netherlands.

Zubairu lasted 83rd minutes in the game and picked up a yellow card in the 53rd minute in what was his fifth appearance in the Europa League Qualifiers this season.

A host of Belgium clubs are on his trail according to his agent Tony Harris but Ajax has now joined the chase after impressing scouts of the club who were in attendance during the game against Feyenoord.

Nicknamed Kante by his teammates , he has progressed massively this season at Trencin with his ability to cover ground for his team and assuredness on the ball the hall mark of his display.

A product of the famous Golden Boot Soccer Academy ( GBS) in Jos, his expected departure will further swell the number of players who graduated from the Jos Academy to make big move this summer.
