Former Manchester City forward Olarewaju Kayode was once again not in the squad for Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk as they pick up their third win after four rounds of game in Ukraine with a 4-1 thrashing of Vorskla.
Kayode is yet to kick a ball in anger this season since the commencement of the league in Ukraine and the club has no report of the forward being injured on their website as at when Owngoalnigeria.com checked.
Although Kayode confirmed he has been injured to a Nigerian website four days ago but despite his claims of returning back to training , he wasn’t listed for the squad against Vorskla.
Last season Kayode had a hugely successful loan spell at the club with two goals to his name in six league games and one from the two games he played in the cup. The performance made the club to buy him permanently from Man City.
However he appears to have lost his way at the club just like it was while he was on loan at Spanish side Girona as the last time he played a game was on the 19th of May, when they were beaten 2-1 by Dynamo Kiev.
All attempt to hear from the representative of the 25 year old proved abortive as mails and calls put forward to them were not returned. A clear reason behind his inactivity at the club is however expected in the coming days.
