Norwegian side IK Start have won the race to sign Nigerian forward Adeleke Akinyemi from Latvian side Ventspils, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
Akinyemi is on his way to Norway in order to beat the transfer window which is set to close within the next 24 hours after Start agreed to pay Ventspils €700,000 for his signing .
As reported by Owngoalnigeria.com in the morning, the Latvian side gave the Norwegians two options in signing the forward namely €700,000 as transfer fee or €500,000 based on two dates.
Start agreed to pay the sum of €700,000 for his full ownership rather than pay €500,000 which would have seen Ventspils hang on to a 20% sell on clause, if he is sold by the Norwegian outfit.
He will sign a five year deal later today after a routine medical with the club hoping to tidy up all the necessary paperworks before his unveiling later tonight or tomorrow morning.
