HJK Helsinki of Finland forward Macauley Chrisantus has refused to attach importance to his goal in the Europa League Qualifiers which they lost 1-4 to Olimpija Ljubljana.
The goal was first from Chrisantus who joined the team this summer on a free transfer after leaving Spanish third division side Real Murcia following the expiration of his one year deal with the club.
Speaking on the goal, Chrisantus said while he has happy to finally score his first goal for the team, the feeling is normal to him because scoring goals comes natural to him.
” No doubt I’m happy with the goal because it is my first for my new club but it’s all normal for me. Scoring goals has never been a problem for me. So natural when I put the ball in the back of the net”, Chrisantus told Owngoalnigeria.com.
He refused to set a target for himself, insisting on the team first before his personal ambition of scoring a set amount of goals, although he also aware that his goals will play a pivotal role in their quest for honours this season.
” I can’t say the amount of goals I want to score this season. No point placing a number to it but I know my goals will help my team achieve their aim. For now I’m about the team having the best of the season”.
