Enugu Rangers midfielder Christian Madu has penned a four year deal with newly promoted top division Portuguese outfit CD Nacional, Owngoalnigeria.com reports.
Madu who was pivotal to Rangers lifting the Nigeria Professional Football League title two seasons ago spent a week on trial at the club before the decision to sign him was made.
He announced his move to CD National on his social media handle with a caption that read ” Finally, finally I am now a professional footballer in Portugal. I give God the glory “.
The combative midfielder came to prominence during his stint with troubled Giwa FC of Jos and his move to the team means the club now has two Nigerians in himself and Alhassan Ibrahim popularly referred to as Mu’azam.
Their immediate aim will be to help the team remain in the Portuguese top flight following their rise to the division from the second division last season.
