Bordeaux new signing Samuel Kalu is in line for a first time call up to the senior national team of Nigeria after impressing coach Gernot Rohr, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
Kalu joined Bordeaux from Belgium side Gent few weeks ago but Rohr confirmed he has been tracking the winger since he was in Belgium but left him out of his team because he has options in the position which he plays on the right flank.
However, the International retirement of Victor Moses has made the coach to put him at the top of his list for possible replacement for the Chelsea star when Nigeria play Seychelles next month in the 2019 African Cup of Nations Qualifiers.
20 year old Kalu has played just once for Bordeaux since his move and that came in the 1-2 loss away to Toulouse last weekend and he lasted the entire duration of the game.
His abilities to score and create goals made him one of the star of Belgium team Gent last season as he contributed 16 goal consisting of seven goals and nine assists.
