The Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna state Nigeria is in contention to host the Super Eagles once again as the race to qualify for the 2019 African Cup of Nations hots up.
Coach of the Nigerian team Gernot Rohr was at the stadium earlier today to access the playing surface alongside the vice president of the Nigeria Football Federation ( NFF) Alhaji Shehu Dikko.
Super Eagles last played in Kaduna in the 1-1 draw against Egypt in their ill fated attempt to qualify for the last African Cup of Nations. They subsequently played their games at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.
However the political instability in the state has provoked a rethink from the NFF, who were also considering the Asaba Stadium in Delta State but discarded it due to it’s capacity.
A decision on where Nigeria will play their next home game which is against Libya after the game against Seychelles next month is expected to be taken anytime soon.
