Newly signed on IK Start forward Adeleke Akinyemi who took the Europa League Qualifiers by storm with seven goals in four games for Ventspils before moving to Norway is unsure over a call up to the senior national team of Nigeria.
Adeleke caught the eyes of Rohr with a well taken goal in Ventspils 1-2 loss to Bordeaux in the Europa League Qualifiers with the Super Eagles coach watching from the stands.
After the game, the forward who has 13 league goals in 17 games for Latvian side Ventspils before moving to Start of Norway, where he failed to score on his debut met with Rohr after the game.
His discussion with Rohr after the game led to talks about a possible call up to the Super Eagles for thje African Cup of Nations Qualifiers against Seychelles but the 20 year old is yet to hear from Rohr, Owngoalnigeria.com exclusively gathered.
However, Rohr has kept in touch with the forward but keeping in touch with Nigerian players doing well in Europe is something the Franco-German coach is well known for. Hence can’t be termed as a pointer to a possible call up.
The list of players for the Seychelles game will be released officially tomorrow and as at the time of filing this report, Adeleke is yet to hear from Rohr about a possible call up for the game.
