Super Eagles World Cup 2014 midfielder Ramon Azeez is close to agreeing a move to La Liga side Rayo Vallecano from second division Spanish side Lugo, Owngoalnigeria.com understands.
The 25 year old who progressed through the ranks for Nigeria from the Under-17s and 20s to the Super Eagles left Almeria in 2016 last summer for Lugo, but he could be on the move again.
Last season he was ever present for Lugo in the second division and it appears his form caught the eyes of Rayo Vallecano according to his representative who spoke with Owngoalnigeria.com.
” Azeez is wanted by a host of clubs and Rayo Vallecano are among. In the coming days he will make a decision but talks are already advanced. Let me say he is 95% sure of leaving for a La Liga team”, he told Owngoalnigeria.com.
Several reports in Spain also hint at the move and his representative believe it will help him relaunch his international career with the senior national team of Nigeria.
” You have to play at a certain level to get the attention of the national team selectors. So a move to the La Liga will help his case. It’s a good move but we will know if it will happen as planned in the coming days “.
