Ikechukwu Ezenwa could be dropped from future Super Eagles squad unless he claims the number one spot at Nigeria’s CAF Confederation Cup representatives Enyimba, Owngoalnigeria.com understands.
Ezenwa was at a point in time ahead of Theophilus Afelokhai who has moved to the role of first choice in the absence of Fatau Dauda while Super Eagles B captain Ezenwa is now third choice at the club.
Included in Nigeria’s squad for their upcoming game against Seychelles, it could be the last time he will be in the team unless he get regular games at Enyimba according to a source close to coach Gernot Rohr.
” Rohr is aware that Ezenwa has not been getting games at Enyimba in the CAF Confederation Cup. Although you have to remember he joined them after the World Cup. That said it’s important he play games if he wants to be a part of the Super Eagles “, he told Owngoalnigeria.com.
” You can’t call a goalkeeper who is not getting games, so maybe that could mean dropping him from the team unless he reclaims the number one spot at Enyimba. There’s no debate about it”, he remarked.
