On loan Roma forward Sadiq Umar says he could leave Scottish side Rangers in January if he fails to get playing time between now and when the transfer window opens, Owngoalnigeria.com reports.
Jololo as Sadiq Umar is fondly called has not been getting games at Rangers as coach Steven Gerrard currently prefers top striker Alfredo Morellos ahead of the giant Nigerian striker.
While admitting that he is adapting to the demands of playing in Scotland, Sadiq however refused to rule out a move in January even though he enjoys his near perfect working relationship with Gerrard, the coach of the team.
” I understand it will take a while for me to get use to the system of play in Scotland. In the coming days I should be fit to press for a starting spot in the team. The coach has been very helpful to me. Working with Gerrard has improved me a lot”, Sadiq told Owngoalnigeria.com.
” My situation is understandable to me but Roma want me to play, so if they want me to go to where I will get more playing time in January, It’s something that I will have to obey”, he concluded.
Last season he had two different loan spells, firstly at Torino before heading to Dutch side NAC Breda in January, where he scored six goals in ten games at the club.
