Former Nigeria U20 trainee Jamilu Collins has provided a useful update on his recovery from the injury which led to his substitution last weekend when Paderborn were held to a 2-2 draw by Bochum in a second division game in Germany.
The newly invited Super Eagles left back was substituted with six minutes left to play during the game with what looked like a serious knee injury, which sparked talks about a possible withdrawal from the Super Eagles squad for next weekend game against Seychelles.
Collins in an exclusive chat with Owngoalnigeria.com revealed the injury is not as serious as initially feared and he has already received the all clear to join the Super Eagles in Seychelles.
He even confirmed he will depart for Seychelles later today from his base in Germany and he expect to arrive in the Island nation on Tuesday ahead of the game on Saturday.
” It’s nothing serious. I feared the worst when it happened but I was delighted when the doctors told me it’s nothing to be worried about. I’m fully fit and ready to play if called upon”, Collins told Owngoalnigeria.com.
” I will leave Germany later today and hopefully arrive Seychelles on Tuesday. The honour of playing for Nigeria is something I’m excited about. I can’t wait to dorn the Super Eagles jersey “, he concluded.
