The 2-3 defeat suffered by Nigeria in their 2-3 loss to Burkina Faso in their opening game of the WAFU B Africa U17 Qualifiers Championship has drawn a reaction from the coach of the Nigerian team Manu Garba.
Nigeria dominated possession but they fail to hang onto a point succumbing to a second half strike after coming from two goals down to bring scores to 2-2 before the half time break.
Speaking after the game, Manu Garba said their opponents didn’t play fair during the game and lamented their time wasting antics during the game especially when Nigeria tried to build some kind of momentum during the game.
” We can’t be teaching kids how to dive and kill time at this age and stage of their career. Players of Burkina Faso didn’t play fair with their time wasting antics and we expected the referee to add a sizeable amount of time after regulation time, unfortunately he didn’t. We have shift our focus to the next game”, the coach told Owngoalnigeria.com in an exclusive chat.
