Europa League – Ex U17 Star Chukwueze Makes Debut For Villarreal In Stalemate Against Rangers

Highly rated Nigerian forward Samuel Chukwueze played his first game for the first team of Spanish side Villarreal playing in their 2-2 draw against Rangers in the Europa League.

The 19 year old was rewarded for his strong performances for the B team with a spot in the firs team squad and he was introduced for Nicola Sansone with ten minutes left to play in the game.

His introduction failed to spark a revival for the Spanish side as Scottish side Rangers forced their way into the game despite falling behind twice during the course of the game decided at the Estadio de la Ceramica.

Chukwueze one of the stars of the Nigeria U17 team of 2015 is one of two Nigerians with the team as his fellow U17 teammate Jack Ipalibo is also with the Europa League campaigners.

For Rangers coach Steven Gerrard once again snubbed Sadiq Umar despite the absence of suspended first choice striker Alfredo Morellos, the Nigerian wasn’t considered among the three substitutes introduced by the coach.
