Voted as man of the match after another exciting display for English Championship side QPR in their 3-1 win over Aston Villa, many would have thought Ebere Eze will be the name on the squad of Nigeria when it was released for the games against Seychelles and Liberia respectively.
However the 20 year old was overlooked as coach Gernot Rohr opt to hand a shock call up to former Arsenal prospect Semi Ajayi, who didn’t do badly in both games but still not highly rated as Eze among watchers of the English Championship.
It took Eze a while to get going following his move from Millwall but a sign of how well he has progressed made the club to offer him an extension few weeks ago to avoid losing him on a cheap as the likes of Tottenham Hotspurs and few other Premier League clubs are on his trail.
Currently rated as one of the best emerging talents in the Championship, he has found the back of the net three times from the first nine games of the season from his role as the playmaker of his team.
A creative midfielder who can ghost past his man with quick feet and smart turn. His strength appears to be one area where the Super Eagles could need some help as he can create and also score goals.
