As the date draws close for the coach of the Super of Nigeria Gernot Rohr to reveal his list of players for the upcoming back to back AFCON 2019 Qualifiers tie against Libya, Shehu Abdullahi is in a race to be match fit for the game.
So far the 25 year old Bursaspor defender is yet to kick a ball in anger owing to an injury picked up few days to the first game of the new Turkish football season and same injury ruled him out of the Eagles game against Libya.
Abdullahi posted pictures of his return from injury two weeks ago and he was hoping to take part in the game against Istanbul Basaksehir, he only made the bench for the game as they battled to a 0-0 draw.
His quest to gain match fitness will be in the fore this weekend when Bursaspor play guest to Sivasspor tomorrow, few days before coach Rohr will make his list for the game against Libya public.
A regular for the Eagles at right back under Rohr, Abdullahi is mostly played as a defensive midfielder in Turkey and at the World Cup in Russia, the decision of the technical crew of the Super Eagles to play the 3-5-2 formation saw him lost his starting spot after the first game.
