Watford forward Isaac Success and Mainz 05 Anthony Ujah are likely to make the list of the Super Eagles for the games against Libya although one of the two is sure ahead of the other, an aide to coach Gernot Rohr has exclusively revealed to Owngoalnigeria.com.
The duo of Ujah and Success were both reported to have made the squad for the AFCON 2019 Qualifiers tie against Libya in Uyo and later Tunisia respectively but that might not entirely be the case according to an aide of coach Gernot Rohr.
” It will be made official tomorrow. I think we should wait for it but one of the two players made the list. Success or Ujah just wait for tomorrow. Both of them could be in and they could also miss out entirely. You never know”, he told Owngoalnigeria.com on the condition of anonymity.
He however confirmed the return of captain John Obi Mikel to the team after injury ruled him out of the previous qualifiers game against Seychelles. The Tianjin Teda midfielder will lead the Eagles once again as they eye points in two games against Libya.
” Mikel is back, that is certain. He will captain the team. The confidence he brings to the rest of the team is something you can’t throw away. Hopefully that will come to bear against Libya in both games”, he concluded.
