Super Eagles new left back Jamilu Collins says his style of play is entirely different from that of other players who are pushing for the left back spot of the Super Eagles.
Collins was first called up by coach Gernot Rohr for the AFCON 2019 Qualifiers tie against Seychelles but injury prevented the 24 year old from making his competitive bow, although he did play in the friendly game against Liberia.
Since returning from international duty, he has been ever present for his team in the German second division, and that has earned him another invitation to the senior national team of Nigeria ahead of the double header against Libya.
Speaking to Owngoalnigeria.com from his base in Germany, the Kaduna born former HNK Rijeka of Croatia man said his style is similar to the methods of coach Rohr due to his stint in Germany.
” Quality players are in the Super Eagles team. You need to push and push for a spot but for the left full back, I think I am a bit different. The playing style of the coach particularly in defence is no different from what am used to in Germany, probably because he is German”, Collin told Owngoalnigeria.com.
” My aim is to start against Libya but the final decision lies with the coach and my performance in training is also key. Victory for the team is the overall goal of all of us and not who plays or who doesn’t. It’s very simple “.
