A proposed political gathering in Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom State where the Super Eagles will take on Libya in the AFCON 2019 Qualifiers has affected the arrival of the Nigerian players for the game, Owngoalnigeria.com reports.
As at the time of filing in this report only four players have arrived the camp of the team as the others are battling to secure flights to connect to Uyo as most airlines have been fully booked by individuals heading to the city for a political gathering.
The duo of Ahmed Musa and Shehu Abdullahi are expected to join the camp in about an hour time as they finally boarded an aircraft for Uyo from Lagos few minutes ago as at the time of this report.
So far, William Troost-Ekong, Semi Ajayi, Moses Simon and Isaac Success are the players in camp while Alex Iwobi, Leon Balogun and Ola Aina are in Abuja where they will connect a flight to Uyo later in the day.
Coach Gernot Rohr is however optimistic that the team will have a full house before the end of today with all invited players expected to be in camp ahead of the start of full tactically training tomorrow in preparation for the game.
