The name Junior Udeme Pius came to the fore in 2014 when he signed the dotted lines for the U19 of Portuguese league giants FC Porto‎ and months later he progressed to the B team.

A loan to Desportivo Aves was next on the card for the then 18 year old before he was released by Porto leaving the tough tackling defender to take a step down to the third division, where he teamed up with Cesarense.

He spent just a year at Cesarense before second division side Sanjoanense snapped him up in 2016 and his impressive performance in his debut season didn’t go unnoticed with a move to top division side Tondela.

At Tondela, shortly after winning a spot in the starting line up, a nasty injury cut short his season as he was ruled out for eight months. Hence he missed the entirety of last season which led to his departure from Tondela this summer.

Speaking to Owngoalnigeria.com in an exclusive chat, Junior said his aim is to help Pacos Ferreira who are leaders in the second division gain promotion back to the top flight because that is where they belong.

” The aim is to help my team return back to the top league in Portugal. So far the season is going well for me personally and it will be nice to crown it all with promotion to the top division “, he told Owngoalnigeria.com.
