A lot has been said about Villarreal rave of the moment Samuel Chukwueze who is presently with the senior national team of Nigeria gearing up for his international debut when Nigeria take on South Africa tomorrow.
If he doesn’t make his debut in tomorrow’s AFCON 2019 Qualifiers, he will likely be in action against Uganda on Wednesday in a friendly game at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba, Delta State Nigeria.
Speaking to Owngoalnigeria.com shortly before departure to South Africa with the Super Eagles, Chukwueze took out time to explain his style of play and his best role on the pitch.
So far he is filled in as a number ten for the B team of Villarreal, but for the first team he has played as a false nine and also on the flanks where he mostly drifts into the midfield as an alternate playmaker.
” I like to have the ball at my feet because it gives me the confidence to do what I can for the best of my team. However I can also help out in defence even though I won’t say I am good at it. It’s all about the team and not me when am on the pitch “, the 19 year old said.
” In terms of favorite position on the pitch, I am comfortable anywhere in attack but I prefer coming in from the right or playing as a playmaker just behind the striker. I wish I can play more role for the good of my team”, he concluded.
