Base on the last training session of the Super Eagles yesterday morning before their departure to South Africa later in the evening, two players in John Ogu and Moses Simon are favorites to force their way into the starting line up of the team.
The duo were used by coach Gernot Rohr alongside players who are likely to start Saturday’s game against South Africa in the AFCON 2019 Qualifiers with Ogu likely to replace the suspended Wilfred Ndidi.
Simon was used on the left flank ahead of Samuel Kalu who arrived camp a day late no thanks to visa issues although in their test game, Kalu was preferred ahead of Simon in the team that has more regular players.
Pace appears to be the primary thing Rohr is banking on against South Africa, who are in no way the quickest in defence.
The final training session later this evening will give more insight into players who are likely to start the game tomorrow , a game which a win will book a place for Nigeria at next year Africa Cup of Nations.
