A resolute Uganda side showed why they are so highly rated as they frustrated the Super Eagles to earn a 0-0 draw in Asaba in an international friendly game.
Both teams are already through to next year Africa Cup of Nations and the game was part of their preparations for the tournament which will be holding in Cameroon in June next year.
The game lacked any real goal moment in the first half although the Super Eagles threatened with Victor Osimhen and Samuel Chukwueze looking lively for the Super Eagles in attack. Osimhen came close to scoring but his headers sailed narrowly wide.
A better performance in the second half saw Nigeria lay siege on the goal of Uganda but fail to sufficiently trouble the goalkeeper who didn’t make any particular safe despite all the goal attempts by the Super Eagles.
Five minutes of time added on after regulation time filtered out with the away team showing why they are yet to concede so far in the AFCON 2019 Qualifiers with a game to go.
