Gernot Rohr has no doubt done a good job since his appointment as coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria as he has ensured that the team qualified for major tournament with a game to spare.
Nigeria under the supervision of Gernot Rohr qualified for the World Cup with a game to spare and in the race to be at next yeart Africa Cup of Nations, they are already through with a game to spare.
However a member of the team said the coach is not too different than indigenous coaches who have handled the Super Eagles in the past per tactics and technical approach to games and during games.
Rohr’s tactics and substitutions during games have been heavily debated and according to a member of the back room team of the coach, he is not different from indigenous coaches in terms of tactics but he has his own unique ways of getting the best out of the players.
” Let’s not argue in terms of tactics, there’s little to separate him from indigenous coaches but he has used the talents at his disposal well than any other coach. His man management skill is also weak but the players trust him and know that if they work hard they will get their spot in the team”, he told Owngoalnigeria.com.
” Sometimes when he want to make substitutions we fear the worst and even when we go for half time break, a lot hardly change. Above all the players like him a lot and that has impacted on their performance on the pitch “.
