Super Eagles of Nigeria defender Kenneth Omeruo post another fine performance for Leganes helping them to a 1-0 win over Deportivo Alaves in the Spanish La Liga.
On loan from Chelsea till the end of the season, the 25 year old has cemented his spot in the starting line up of Leganes and he was on for his six consecutive league start at home against Alaves.
He didn’t disappoint as he was part of a back five which frustrated Alaves for the entire duration of the game as Leganes extend their unbeaten run to seven games with Omeruo playing in six of the games since his first game against Valencia which ended 1-1.
Reports has it that Leganes are willing to exercise the option of buying him permanently at the end of his loan deal next summer for a fee in the region of £4m but that will only be possible if they survive the drop to the second division in Spain.
The win over Alaves lifted them to 16th on the log in the Spanish top flight as they now have 13 points although they have played a game more than all the teams below them on the log.
