Gent Nigerian duo of Taiwo Awoniyi and Philip Azango have been temporarily demoted to the B team of the Belgium side to help them get regular run of games, Owngoalnigeria.com reports.
The duo were named alongside nine other first team players who are also not having regular run of games with the team in the squad of the B team for their game against Charleroi this evening.
Yesterday, Gent were involved in a top flight league game against Antwerp and while Awoniyi was an unused substitute in the game which ended 0-0, Azango wasn’t listed in the match day squad.
Awoniyi who is on a season long loan deal from Liverpool is struggling to match his last season feat in Belgium while on loan at Mouscron as he is yet to find the back of the net in 12 games.
Azango who joined Gent in the summer from AS Trencin of Slovakia has played just once this season in the league as he continue to adapt to his new surrounding, he has however played three games for the B team and scored in one of the games.
