Highly rated Watford 17 year old Jayden Bennets has pulled out of the squad of the Nigeria U20 team for their upcoming regional tournament, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively report.
The youngster was invited to the Nigeria U20 team after he accepted to represent Nigeria ahead of Germany, the country of his mother and England , the country of his birth.
However he won’t be honouring the call as his club have decided against releasing him for the regional tournament citing club engagements as part of their reasons in a mail sent to the Nigeria Football Federation ( NFF) .
Watford however assured the NFF that he will be available when the Super Eagles head to the Africa U20 Cup of Nations next year but not the WAFU Championship which will take place in Benin Republic.
Described as a midfielder with an eye for goal by the official website of Watford, Bennets can also play as a striker with his lethal nature in front of goal earning him the nickname “Eden Hazard” owing to his similarities with the Chelsea ace.
