Sarri Explains Why Victor Moses Won’t Make Chelsea’s Squad For Europa League Tie Against PAOK

Victor Moses uncertain future at Stamford Bridge was viewed by many as the reason why coach Maurizo Sarri left him out of the squad for their Europa League tie against PAOK Salonika of Greece.

Moses has been told by coach Maurizo Sarri that he can leave the club in January as first reported by, and many feel his omission from the squad is down to the fact that he has no future at the club.

Sarri plays a different style from former manager Antonio Conte who played the Nigerian to good effect as a right wing-back in his two years spell in charge of the club. Sarri doesn’t play the 3-5-2 formation hence Moses is now deemed surplus to requirements due to other players ahead of him in the wing position.

However that is not the reason why the Nigerian wasn’t listed in the squad for the game against PAOK as Sarri in his pre match conference confirmed Moses has a back problem which effectively rules him out of the game.

“The last problem is Moses, I spoke with the doctor 10 mins ago. Moses has a back problem this morning. So I think he will be not able to play. Hazard is not a serious injury but he will not play tomorrow. We can recover him for the Premier League match”, the coach said at the pre match meeting ahead of the game.
