21 year old German-Nigerian defender Jordan Torunarigha scored one of the goals for Hertha Berlin to power them to a 2-0 win away at Hannover 96, Owngoalnigeria.com reports.
Torunarigha scored the opener one minute to the half time break to give his team a half time lead in what was his 5th appearance in the Bundesliga this season, no thanks to injuries and fitness issues.
He was on for the entire duration of the game which they wrapped up courtesy of a goal 17 minutes from the end by veteran striker Vedad Ibisevic.
Following his breakthrough season last term he was approached by coach of the Nigerian team to be a part of their squad for the World Cup in Russia but he declined the offer to continue his career as a youth international for Germany.
Born to a Nigerian father Ojokojo Torunarigha who played for Nigeria league side NPFL Shooting Stars in the 80’s , Torunarigha is yet to make his senior national team debut for Germany which still makes him eligible to play for Nigeria.
