Arsenal forward Alex Iwobi has voiced his frustrations at his team losing their lead twice in their 2-2 draw against Manchester United yesterday at Old Trafford in the English Premier League.
Iwobi was on from the start and lasted 65 minutes in the game which saw Arsenal loose their lead on two different occasions, a minute after going ahead in both situation during the midweek game.
Speaking after the game which Arsenal almost won with the duo of Pierre Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan coming close to scoring, Iwobi lamented their inability to hold on to their lead which could have given them all three points.
“We knew it was going to be a difficult game because Old Trafford is always a tough place to come. I guess it’s a hard one to take because we were ahead twice. Both teams fought hard, though, so I guess a draw is a fair result for both teams”, he told the media after the game.
Speaking further he lamented the fact that they twice lost their lead minutes after going ahead, insisting that they should have defended better; “Maybe it’s just a mental thing of staying focused. We got a bit excited and tried to rush forward where we shouldn’t have. Maybe it’s about just making sure we settle things down a bit”.
