Leganes are yet to officially contact Chelsea over a permanent deal for on loan defender Kenneth Omeruo despite his fine performances for the team in recent games, Owngoalnigeria.com understands.
The 25 year old is on a season long loan from Chelsea but Leganes have the option of making his deal permanent next summer when his deal expires at the club for an agreed fee of around €8m.
So far he is has tasted defeat just once in the ten games he has played for the club with 8 of the games coming in the league, while two came in the Copa Del Rey. The only loss was in the game against Levante on the 27th of October.
His fine form sparked talks of Leganes making his deal permanent in the summer, but Owngoalnigeria.com exclusively gathered that the club will wait till the summer to confirm their top flight status before approaching Chelsea for a permanent deal.
Presently they are 16th on the log and moving out of the drop zone is their priority for now although the option of making Omeruo’s stay permanent is something the club will no doubt want to happen at the end of the season.
