WAFU U20 Championship- Flying Eagles Of Nigeria Fail To Breakdown Niger Republic

The U20 team of Nigeria got their campaign at the ongoing WAFU U20 Championship with a 0-0 draw against Niger Republic, who are now through to the next round after their opening win against Ghana.

Flying Eagles dominated the early exchanges but didn’t create much in terms of goal scoring opportunity, something that Niger Republic almost capitalise on to score before the end of the first half.

Coach Paul Aigbogun of the Nigerian team watched on as Niger Republic began the second half as the better side with the Nigerian central defence duo of Valentine James and Aliu Salawudeen struggling to keep up with their wave of attacks.

Poor finishing robbed Niger Republic the chance to pick up their second win of the tournament but the stalemate send them through to the next round while Nigeria wil tackle Ghana next and a draw will be okay for them to progress.
