The first choice goalkeeper of the Super Eagles of Nigeria Francis Odinaka Uzoho marked his return to full fitness with a splendid performance to help his team Elche end a two game losing sequence with a 0-0 draw against Sporting Gijon, Owngoalnigeria.com reports.
Uzoho has been away for three weeks since the 5-1 mauling Elche received in the hands of Cadiz, a game which Uzoho had to be rushed to the hospital after complaining of difficulties in breathing.
In his absence Elche failed to keep any clean sheet in five games and they lost their last two games which saw them drop to 18th in the 20 team Segunda division in Spain.
Yesterday Uzoho made three big stops to deny Sporting Gijon the chance to snatch a win and his performance earned him a spot in the team of the week in the Spanish second division.
It is the second time he is making the team and the game which is his fourth game in the League, it is also the third time he is posting a clean sheet this season.
