Nigeria international defender Chidozie Awaziem will push for a move away from Portuguese side FC Porto in January due to the lack of playing time he is currently enduring at the club, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
This season he has played just two games for the senior team of Porto since the start of the season and only last week he was demoted to the B team who are campaigning in the second division, posting a strong performance in their 1-0 win over Pacos Ferreira.
In his bid to resurrect his international career he has demanded for a transfer from Porto in January with teams in Portugal and France heavily interested in having him on loan for the rest of the season.
Porto are open to the idea of the defender leaving on loan but want him to commit his future to the team by way of contract extension before yielding to his request to leave the club on loan when the transfer window opens in January.
However a member of his management team speaking on the condition of anonymity revealed that an agreement has been reached with Porto for Awaziem to leave the club in January to a team where he will get game time to aid his development.
