The international future of Arsenal rising star Bukayo Saka is one that has been discussed extensively considering his eligibility to play for Nigeria and England.
Already an established international for England at youth level, his recent rise to the first team of Arsenal has sparked talks of Nigeria luring him to play for the Super Eagles like they did with Alex Iwobi.
Although the Nigeria Football Federation ( NFF) are yet to make contact with parents or representative of the 17 year old but it is believed that it will be done before the Super Eagles resume for camping ahead of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
The NFF according to reports exclusively gathered by Owngoalnigeria.com are working hard to get his consent and confirm his Nigerian roots before proceeding with the next line of action.
Owngoalnigeria.com London based correspondent Daniel Martins tracked down a member of the back room staff of the U23s of Arsenal who revealed Saka isn’t bothered about the speculations surrounding his international future.
” He is focused on pushing his way to the first team and not a career with Nigeria or England at senior international level. Maybe in the future but for now it is his club career and his progress with the youth team of England that matters most base on what I gathered from one of the U23s guys at Arsenal “, Martins revealed.
