The proposed friendly game between the Nigeria U20 team and their Saudi Arabia counterparts will no longer hold according to reports exclusively gathered by Owngoalnigeria.com.
An announcement on the official website of the Nigeria Football Federation ( NFF) confirmed the game will be played next month but Saudi Arabia requested for the game to be cancelled due to lack of time for logistics.
It was supposed to be part of the games the Nigerian team will use to fine tune their preparations for the Africa U20 Cup of Nations but the game will now likely hold after the tournament in Niger Republic.
Despite the cancellation of the game, the team will continue to perfect their strategies for the tournament at their Abuja camp with many friendly games lined up to aid their match sharpness ahead of the tournament.
Coach Paul Aigbogun has so far drilled the players for 12 days and so far they are yet to taste defeat in all of the friendly games they have played so far despite the constant changes to the team for test games.
