John Ogu Turns Down Contract Extension With Hapoel Be’er Sheva, Set For Summer Exit

Super Eagles midfielder John Ogu has turned down an offer to extend his contract at Israeli side Hapoel Be’er Sheva meaning he will be a free player in six months ‎time when his deal at the club expires, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal.

Ogu has been at the club since 2014 playing and his contributions has helped them to three league titles in a row and two FA Cup trophies with many terming him as the best defensive midfielder in the country.

Keen on a fresh challenge, the 30 year old who has played in Slovenia, Spain and Portugal before his move to Israel is rumoured to be on the wishlist of teams in Turkey and some in the Middle East.

Hapoel Be’er Sheva have already signed his replacement in ‎Kevin Tapoko from Hapoel Hadera and the French man could be preferred ahead of Ogu as Be’er Sheva start rebuilding their team early.
