Coach of the U20 team of Nigeria Paul Aigbogun has submitted a list of 30 players to the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) ahead of Nigeria’s participation at next month U20 Africa Cup of Nations.
Players who were not listed by the coach were asked to vacate the camp of the team to allow for concentration as the date for the African Championship scheduled to take place in Niger Republic draws near.
Although the list will not be made public by the Nigeria Football Federation ( NFF) , players affected by the purge were seen leaving the hotel of the team before the start of training on Friday.
Owngoalnigeria.com exclusively gathered that the list comprises of players who have been with the team for a while and those who featured at the WAFU U20 Championship last year where Nigeria finished as runners up to Senegal.
It appears the trio of Seattle Sounders left back Ibrahim Usman , Rosenborg Igho Ogbu and former Nigeria U17 striker Aliyu Ibrahim popularly known as Aliyu Bravo are part of the new players in the provisional squad for the tournament.
